Assembly Table
during worldwide pandemic, JP created a new story and adventure with his close friends.

“Assembly” for together, was created during the worldwide pandemic in JP’s place in Switzerland. Staying at home in lockdown, in the impossibility to travel, JP took all the objects that make him remind his close friends all around the world. From those were included a Japanese plate, Chinese bike parts, a triangle from a pool table, a Shanghai vase, some little toys, some books, and a candle holder. By creating this new object and furniture, it was like creating a new story and adventure with them.

This elegant side table is shaped like a flower. Its lightness and simple lines allow for effortless mobility, making it easy to move from beside a sofa to a bedside. Crafted from solid wood, it is available in stained lacquered finishes or natural American oak.

JP’s creative process involved stacking objects received from close friends he missed and fusing them to form new furniture and shapes. He enjoys working directly at a 1:1 scale, combining these objects, remolding them through 3D modeling, and recreating them using a 5-axis CNC machine. This process was both deeply meaningful and emotional, especially during the pandemic.
